What's the big hype on boosting your immunity? Your immune system is your biggest defense against bacterial pathogens out in the world. Everyone's immune system is custom made to the individual person. There are some people that are dealing with autoimmune diseases that need to pay close attention to the heightened need to boost their immunity.
Next, I'm sure you've heard about antioxidants. Antioxidants are a substance that can prevent or slow damage to cells caused by free radicals. What are free radicals? Free radicals are an unstable molecule that the body produces as a reaction to environmental stressors (Medical News Today, 2018).
So, you may be wondering now, what do I do with this information? Basically the idea is to load your body up with antioxidants so that they can fight off the free radicals in your body. Some examples of free radicals are vitamin c, zinc and glutathione.
Conveniently, we offer ALL of these. Now, sure, you could eat foods that are very high in antioxidants but the amount you would need to eat is so absurd you would spend more money at Whole Foods than on your rent!
For your convenience, Specialty Dripps offers IV hydration therapy and vitamin injections that we can customize specifically for your needs. For preventative needs, or if you are feeling a little under the weather or feel that seasonal tickle in your throat- call us up and we will give you the boost you need to fight it off.
How to Fuel Your Gut With the Good ‘ish

I'm sure your doctor has told you how important it is to intake extra vitamins pills or supplements. But I also bet they failed to mention how little good it actually does for you. When you take vitamins orally the absorption rate is significantly lower because your GI tract is highly acidic and breaks down the vitamin before it actually has a chance to absorb in your small and large intestines. In order to further understand how vitamins and minerals are absorbed, let's take a look at the different vitamins individually. Vitamins are broken down into fat soluble and water soluble nutrients. Vitamin A D E K are all fat soluble. Vitamins C B are all water soluble. Water soluble vitamins are harder to maintain because they are easily flushed out by your adrenal system. When your body feels like it has enough C or B it will flush the rest out, instead of storing it like the fat soluble vitamins. Fat soluble vitamins are best taken with fatty foods to allow the increased absorption.
However, in order to get the biggest bang for your buck, so to speak, getting your vitamins via a shot or IV infusion allows your body to absorb almost 100% of the vitamin because it bypasses the GI tract and goes directly into your bloodstream.
Another helpful tip is to take amino acids with your vitamins. By doing that it helps increase your absorption. Have I mentioned that here at Specialty Dripps we are able to do a custom assessment of your health history and symptoms to create a regimen specific to you. We offer a variety of vitamins, minerals and amino acids as previously mentioned.
XOXO,
Nurse Afton
